The IS-LCP provides protection for both 4-wire and 6-wire loadcells as well as the measuring instrument. The LCP is contained within an IP65 enclosure, or alternatively it may be supplied as an assembled PCB. As well as having IS certification the IS-LCP is engineered for installation into a loadcell circuit without affecting calibration.
The intrinsically safe and flameproof IS-SLT range provides surge protection for most twisted pair signal cables associated with intriscally safe field devices. Novaris ‘IS-SLT’ products are certified intrinsically safe and flameproof according to IEC Ex and ATEX and so may be installed in Ex d rated instruments without loss of integrity. The multistage design provides a high energy gas discharge tube (GDT) as primary protection for common mode disturbances, commonly associated with lightning strikes and power system earth faults and a secondary metal-oxide varistor clamping stage across the signal lines. This combination provides very robust surge protection with high transient suppression and low let-through voltages. In addition protection is provided for cable screens which may be open circuit at the instrument. Novaris ‘IS-’ products have been certified intrinsically safe according to IEC Ex and ATEX; the group IIC T4 certification makes it acceptable for use with all gas/air mixtures. With two different base options the SL protectors offer either direct earthing via Din rail, for the most effective, low impedance earth connection (-G base) or a connection via GDT to the DIN rail, offering isolation under normal conditions and equipotential bonding during a surge (-EC90 base). The IS-SSP6A intrinsically safe series surge protectors complement the IS-SL range for applications of load currents up to 6A. Typical applications may include power supplies, instrumentation and other low voltage requirements up to 6A. Novaris slimline surge protection devices (SPDs) provide surge protection for most twisted pair signaling schemes. Certified to be intrinsically safe Novaris IS SPDs can be installed in the hazardous zone or the field side of the IS barrier. This not only provides protection for the PLC or RTU I/O, it also provides protection for the IS barrier. Novaris SDD2 DC Surge Diverters offer an ideal solution for systems up to 150 Volts DC two phase systems. The SDD2 diverters are housed in a DIN compliant, fail-safe metal enclosure. Other voltages are available on request.
Use Spark Gap Surge Diverters for point of entry protection at main switchboards where direct strike protection is required. Carbon disk spark gaps are a robust and proven technology designed to handle long duration surges. The low resistance design minimises the energy dissipation within the device. Two models are available with either 50 kA or 110 kA of impulse current handling per phase for even the most extreme lightning environments. The Novaris spark gap diverters are a sealed unit and do not exhaust hot ionised gas into the switchboard.
Novaris SSP protectors are suitable for installation in circuits up to 63A. The SSP range has been engineered to provide excellent performance in an economical package. Protection is provided for all combinations of lines (L-N, L-PE, N-PE) ensuring the maximum level of protection is achieved at all times. Series surge protectors house the shunt (parallel) connection of the protection components internally within the device. This reduces the connection impedance to a minimum to guarantee optimal performance in all installations.
The Novaris SFD2 range of two phase surge filters are designed for protecting floating AC or DC power supplies. Applications include DC power supplies, balanced circuits for rail applications and single phase IT systems.
Novaris SGF surge filters provide optimum Class I MSB and DB protection using robust spark gap technology in combination with a low pass L-C filter for critical equipment up to 250A per phase.
The Novaris HSF is a hybrid surge filter with primary and secondary hybrid surge protection components plus a low pass filter. The hybrid design means the filter can continuously withstand phase to phase voltage between its phase and neutral terminals yet its performance equals that of other Novaris surge filters. This makes it ideal for applications where voltage regulation is poor and power line faults common.
Novaris SFD surge filters provide the highest level of protection for critical and essential equipment up to 32A per phase. Their compact design makes them an ideal choice for space restricted applications.
The Novaris Surge Circuit Breakers are designed specifically for short circuit protection of MOV based Type I and Type II (point of entry and secondary) shunt connected surge diverters. The SCB models have a continuous current rating of 3A to power the Novaris active alarm circuits but will not trip for large transient surges.
Novaris SDH High Voltage Surge Diverters have been engineered for system voltages above 600VRMS. Typical applications include aviation runway lighting, mining and railway industries.
Novaris SDD DINsafe Surge Diverters offer powerful performance at domestic MSB and industrial DBs. The SDD diverters are housed in DIN compliant, failsafe metal enclosures and are fully compliant to AS/NZS1768-2007 and to AS/NZ3000 wiring rules.
Use MULTIMOV all mode high energy surge diverters for point of entry protection at main switchboards, especially where N-PE protection is required. MULTIMOV surge diverters feature a parallel redundant arrangement of high energy metal oxide varistors (MOVs), thus promoting long life and exceptional surge handling capacity. In the event of a varistor failure the remaining segments continue to provide protection. The LED display indicates segment status and indicates normal operation when all LEDs are brightly lit.
